JLC Group recently provided and installed High Speed Doors at London City Airport, allowing quick access for the fire personnel using automatic or manual systems.
All doors raise automatically via a remote crash alarm, initiated by the Terminal Operations. The doors themselves can be manually raised or lowered via a control panel, allowing a swift exit if there’s an emergency.
The doors themselves are wind rated 5, which is the highest, and they stand at 4.3m wide and 5.4m high. They are effective and quick, perfect for emergency situations. With a manual chain override, the fire personnel are able to take control in the result of any power loss or failure.
Following installation, and upon discovering inappropriate levels of noise, we engineered additional solutions to ensure this issue was resolved, but also provided additional weather protection with specialised seals, and weather brush strips.
JLC provided full management of the works, following strict Health and Safety and Covid guidelines.
