We did it! We are pleased to announce we completed the inaugural London to Brighton Electric Vehicle Rally in the JLC Orca Van.
Not only did we prove how versatile this van is, by completing the 63 mile run using only 60% of our battery's capacity, but we did it in style and at a cost of only £3. We topped the day off as winners of the Most Innovative Vehicle award, presented by the one and only Mark Williams! Keep your eyes peeled, as we will be back next year with bigger and better plans.
With a 30kWh battery, a range of up to 125 miles, and a top speed of 52mph the Orca van was perfect for the job. We started on the banks of the River Thames and finished on Brighton Beach where our team awaited. As the first Commercial vehicle to complete the course, we demonstrated the ability this vehicle has driving across various terrains and even up and over the hills of Ditchling Beacon.
